FIELD TRIPS
Enriching & inspiring experiences not feasible in a classroom setting. The district funds one environmental science trip for grades 1-5, and PTO funds additional trips that support the grade curriculum and ensure students get a variety/multiple experiences.
Funds raised by the PTO are prioritized as follows:
PTO assists teachers and gauges their ideas/plans + supports putting everything into motion. Past field trips have included: Farmers Market, Toledo Zoo, Kenzington, AADL Downtown Library, Vet’s Park, Henry Ford, Nutcracker!

Staff Lead: Ms. Sims
Funds raised by the PTO are prioritized as follows:
- A “Big” Landmark Trip: We recognize that significant learning occurs when children are immersed in new environments. We endeavor to provide every child with at least one landmark trip per school year.
- Music & Performing Arts (chosen by Mr. Sutton, Haisley’s music teacher): Haisley is dedicated to supporting the arts. Funds permitting, we will have each class experience an act of cultural importance, ideally visiting a major local venue (Hill Auditorium, Michigan Theater or the Power Center).
- Teacher Elected Trips: The PTO recognizes the inherent diversity in classroom experience. The field trip program supports that diversity by providing additional funds for teacher-elected trips. Teachers may apply for the remaining funding on a first-come first-serve basis.
